H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 HUMANITARIAN MISSION FLORENCE, NJ
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 has again exceeded all expectations by building the entire exterior of a 2100 sq. foot home for SSgt. Andrew Robinson (USMC) and his wife, Sara. On Thursday July 17th , over sixty H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 volunteers acting as a Build Brigade on behalf of Homes For Our Troops descended on the beautiful town of Florence, NJ. The H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 volunteers took on the Herculean Task of framing, roofing, sheathing, siding, and installing the windows and doors of Andy and Sara’s new home in just three days, completing the build on Saturday July 19th.
H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 volunteers encountered extremely difficult conditions during the three days of the Build Brigade. An Extreme Weather Alert had been issued by the National Weather Service advising all to stay indoors due to the oppressive heat conditions and to not engage in physical activities. The H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 volunteers however were on a mission to honor a true American hero and his family. They would allow nothing to stop them from completing their task and honor, in a small way, the man who once carried over one hundred pounds of gear in the 120 degree heat of Iraq. Being true professionals the H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 volunteers adapted to the extreme conditions and completed their mission, without injury or illness.
H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 thanks Andy and Sara Robinson, their families and friends, the Florence N.J. Fire and Police Departments, their neighbors, the community of Florence and all the people of the Florence Community that made this a truly shared experience.
