HEART 9/11 and students, faculty, and friends of Fordham University kicked off the first annual Fordham University 9/11 Stair Climb honoring the faculty and alumni lost on September 11, 2001, on Friday, September 11, 2026.
HEART 9/11 has two international student volunteers who played an important role in organizing the event, honoring members of the Fordham community lost on 9/11, and keeping Fordham’s promise to Never Forget.
As part of the commemoration, students climbed 2,200 steps on the bleachers at Moglia Stadium at Jack Coffey Field, mirroring the climb first responders made up and down the stairs at the World Trade Center.
HEART 9/11 Founder and President Bill Keegan addressed the crowd, along with Fordham University President Tania Tetlow and others.
It was especially meaningful to see Fordham bring its connection to 9/11 front and center on this 25th anniversary.
